Can’t get to Manhattan for the famous New Year’s Eve ball drop in Times Square? Head to downtown Binghamton.

We’ve compiled a list of eight New Year’s Eve events and two events the weekend before to help you warm up for the holidays.

1. Binghamton Center hosts the New Year’s ball drop

He Binghamton NYE Ball Drop and Fireworks Show will ring the new year in downtown Binghamton. The event will be hosted by Social on State, with the ball drop and fireworks presented by Visions Federal Credit Union. Head to Social on State for a three-course pairing dinner at 6 and 8 p.m. At 10. a dance party will begin complete with a DJ. To make a dinner reservation, call 607-296-401. 2. Randy McStine and John Kanazawich will perform at Ransom Steele

Randy McStine will reunite with his lifelong friend and music partner John Kanazawich for a duet concert at the Ransom Steele Tavern at 8 p.m. on Saturday. They will perform classical rock covers from their extensive repertoire. McStine has recently finished his first solo US tour as the opening act for The Pineapple Thief, while Kanazawich has just produced the 2020 season of Binghamton Live at Atomic Tom’s. 3. Jim Ford will perform the latest show with the Binghamton Theater Organ Society before retirement

The Binghamton Theater Society Jim Ford, master organist of the theater will improvise music accompanying Harold Lloyd’s classic comedy “Safety Last” at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Broome County Forum Theater, 236 Washington St., Binghamton. Ford was one of the original volunteers who helped restore and install the Robert Morton 4/24 organ at the Forum in the 1970s and has improvised music for more than 20 silent films over the years with the BTOS. This will mark his last concert as the society’s master organist before his retirement. Tickets are $ 20 for adults, $ 5 for students and $ 15 for BTOS members. 4. Phelps Mansion will host the fundraiser “A Gilded Age New Year”

The Phelps Mansion Museum will begin its 150th anniversary with its fundraising for the Golden Age New Year from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Fundraising will include a buffet dinner and dessert by Cline’s catering service. Opera and holiday selections, along with some Irish and Italian art songs, will be performed by Andrea Gregori, Pej Reitz and Cole Tornberg. The mansion will also be open for viewing holiday decorations and historian Chelsea Gibson will offer a brief history of the Golden Age New Year’s Eve. 5. Number 5 hosts the “Jazzy New Year’s Eve”

Restaurant number 5 will host a restaurant Jazz New Year’s Eve with Ayana Del Valle and Anything Goes from 9:30 pm on Tuesday to 12:30 pm on Wednesday. There will be free New Year’s Eve accessories. 6. 205 dry rings in the new year with the “Flappers and Dappers” party

Celebrate the start of the Roaring ’20 in style with 205 Dry’s “Flappers and Dappers” party from 6pm on Tuesday to 1am on Wednesday. Come dressed in flapers and gentleman dresses. 205 will serve a special dinner menu and it is recommended to book. The bar will be open to party all night. Learn in Charleston with live music starting at 10:30 p.m. There will be toast with champagne at midnight and the prize for the best flapper and dapper dress will also be handed out. 205 Dry is located in 205 State St., Binghamton. 7. Lost dog to celebrate a bright New Year’s Eve party

The Lost Dog Café & Lounge will be the host GlitterBall 2021: New Year’s Eve Gala from 8pm Tuesday to 3am Wednesday. The celebration will begin at the cocktail bar and attendees are encouraged to bring anything that shines, shines, reflects or shines. Prizes will be awarded to the best glam. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Frankie and the waiters will serve bright cocktails. A bottle of bubbles will come with a complementary sparkling wine. There will be a countdown to Times Square and champagne toast. There is no coverage. Dinner will also be served in the cafe until 10 p.m. Reservations and tickets will be accepted. 8. The Discovery Center will host New Year’s Eve extravaganza for children

The Southern Tier Discovery Center will ring the new year in different time zones “New Year’s Eve Extravaganza for Kids.” The center will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Activities will include a balloon, crafts and hourly activities, celebrating the new year in Japan, Sweden and Canada. Admission is $ 8 general admission and free for children 1 year and under. All activities are free with admission. The Discovery Center is located at 60 Morgan Road in Binghamton. 9. Dos Rios Cantina to celebrate the New Year’s party and toast with champagne

Dos Rios Cantina, at 60 Court Street in Binghamton, will host a New Year’s Eve party and Toast with champagne from Tuesday at nine in the evening to Wednesday at 3 in the morning. The event will feature a live DJ as well as a toast with champagne at midnight. Premium free bar tickets are $ 50 in advance or $ 60 at the door. Call 607-235-5322 to make a dinner reservation. 10. John Covelli will perform at the New Year’s Concert

The pianist John Covelli will perform a New Year’s Eve concert at St. Patrick Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. The program will include Beethoven’s 32 variations in C minor and is sponsored by the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra as part of its one-year Beethoven project, which celebrates the famous composer’s 250th birthday.
