Thanks to the increase in COVID-19 vaccine allocation for Puerto Rico, the governor Pedro Pierluisi Urrutia announced that starting next Monday, April 12th, All residents of the island over 16 years they will be eligible to receive the vaccine.

This was announced by Pierluisi during his state status message this afternoon at the Capitol.

“Every Puerto Rican deserves access to health and together we will defeat this virus,” he said.

The governor insisted that the federal government must “treated in Puerto Rico with equality“When it comes to sending vaccines, to which progress in the process would respond.

By expanding vaccination, the Island would meet the deadline for president Joe Biden to make vaccination available to all age groups in the states and territories no later than April 19th.

“Any Puerto Rican resident over the age of 16 who wants to get vaccinated will be able to make an appointment and receive their vaccine,” he added.
