A family of three died when a small plane crashed into a house in a Detroit suburb, officials said.
The crash killed all three people inside the plane, identified as David Compo, president of the Southeast Michigan Housing Builders Association, his wife MIchelle and their son Dawson, according to HBA President Michael Stoskopf, according to a tweet by Mark Cavitt of the Oakland Press.
A cat died at the Lyon town hall that was hit by the plane about 45 minutes west of Detroit, according to local station WDIV.
The family inside the house escaped, but the impact set fire to the two-story residence on Russet Lane, leaving a charred, blackened mess, images of the scene.
The accident is under investigation.
