Tiles crush Orioles with 22 runs

BALTIMORE – Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Teoscar Hernández connected two grand slams, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. he reached 44 homers in the campaign and the Toronto Tiles outscored the Baltimore Orioles in a 22-7 win on Sunday and were two races away from the franchise record.

Guerrero equaled Shoei Ohtani, the pitcher and toletero, in home runs in the Major Leagues.

Jake Lamb also blew the fence in a third inning of 10 runs for the Tiles, who took three of the four games in the series.

Gurriel set the franchise mark with his fourth grand slam of the season, plus he had another two-run homer in the fifth to drive seven runs in total. Danny Jansen amassed four hits, including three doubles and four RBIs produced.

The tile record of the Tiles franchise was set at a 24-10 Orioles beat on June 26, 1978.

Toronto recorded 19 hits and improved their sheet to 80-63, after starting the day tied with the Yankees for the second wildcard ticket, behind Boston.
