Apple CEO Tim Cook has tweeted in response to Facebook’s claims that the upcoming tracking of ads on iOS 14 will be “devastating” for small businesses.
After being posted on the Facebook blog and two newspaper ads claiming that Apple’s privacy features would irrevocably harm the Internet, Tim Cook has tweeted about Apple’s position.
We believe that users should choose about the data that is being collected about them and how they are used. Facebook can continue to track users across apps and websites as before, transparency of app tracking in iOS 14 will only require them to ask your permission first. pic.twitter.com/UnnAONZ61I

While Facebook’s public position is that Apple’s next privacy feature for iOS 14 will be “devastating” for small businesses, it expects to lose revenue on its own. Having estimated a 50% drop in advertising revenue, he now predicts 60%.
Ad tracking is now expected to arrive in iOS 14 in early 2021. It will mean that users receive a notification that an app wants to track their usage and will ask them to accept or reject it.
Separately, Apple’s new privacy tags in the App Store are intended to tell users what their data will be used for before downloading an app.
