Toddlers survive the fall from the 12-story balcony thanks to the “Hero” delivery driver

A delivery driver in Vietnam is being called a hero after he miraculously caught a small child who fell from a balcony on the 12th floor.

Nguyen Ngoc Manh, 31, was sitting his truck waiting to deliver a package to a high-rise resort in Hanoi on Sunday when he heard a child crying and a woman screaming overhead. He told the Anninhthudo news organization, according to the Evening Standard, that he initially avoided the commotion when he was just a child having a tantrum.

But when Manh noticed that the people in the street were panicking and shouting, he lowered the window and looked up. Out of horror, he saw a girl hanging 16 feet in the air, VN Express International reported.

The stunning moment was captured on video and shared on social media.

Manh, the same father, immediately jumped out of his truck. Trying to gauge where the girl might land, he climbed a 6-foot wall between the place where he was detained and the apartment complex.

“I climbed the wall and saw that I could fall on the metal roof of the house to store electric generators for the complex, so I tried to climb it,” Manh told VN Express. “I got it, but I couldn’t stand it firmly because the roof was crooked.”

When the girl lost the balcony railing and plummeted, Manh slipped. But he lunged forward and surprisingly caught the little boy.

She wasn’t crying, he said, but blood was coming out of her mouth.

“It looked a lot like my son’s house. I was so confused, I could only say, ‘Please, please, I’m here now,’ “Manh told VN Express International.

The girl was taken to a hospital, where doctors treated her for a dislocated hip, but said she had no other injuries. Manh tore his arm and grabbed it.

Many on social media hailed Manh as a hero, but he told VN Express he didn’t care about the label. He said he just wants to “do good.”

He told Anninhthudo that he did not feel any comfort in his rescue effort until he returned home to hug his own daughter, who is about the same age as the girl he saved, according to the Evening Standard.
