Star quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Topps announced an exclusive deal to produce a 50-card box that will be released in April.
The 50 trading cards will have a unique design, 20 of which will be created by Lawrence’s brother, Chase, and sister-in-law Brooke, who are professional artists. Lawrence is projected to be No. 1 in the 2021 NFL draft next month and is the most winning quarterback in Clemson’s history.
“I’m excited to work with Topps on this really unique set,” Lawrence said. “Chase and Brooke are very talented artists and it’s special to collaborate with them on these custom designs.”
The trading card market, especially for beginners, has grown over the last year and Lawrence card demand is assumed to be very high.
“There are so many things that make Trevor unique, including his incredibly talented family, and Topps was the right partner to bring this to life,” said Alan Zucker, partner of Excel Management and marketing agent. of Lawrence.
“This unique collection offers fans a reminder they won’t be able to get anywhere else.”
The set of 50 letters will include a mix of oil paintings, digital representations, autograph pieces and inspiration from Topps ’previous designs. The 20 letters created by Lawrence’s brother and sister-in-law were inspired by the 1960s and 1970s, as well as comic book illustrations and graphic novels.
The exact release date is not yet known, but Topps says it will be in April, near the time of the draft, which begins on April 29th. The Jacksonville Jaguars have been widely projected to select Lawrence with the first overall selection.
