The Cabinet of Tourism announced this Friday that it fined 4 million pesos at the Hotel Palladium in the tourist area of Bávaro, La Altagracia province, after failing to comply with health regulations on 31 December.
According to the statement, the hotel broke with the Cabinet regulations, specifically with resolution DJ 05/2020, which it forbids these establishments to hold parties until Sunday 10 January.
Also in the referred document it was emphasized that in case Palladium incurs again in this lack, they will suspend the operating license, Although it was not specified how long this sanction would last or whether it would be permanent.
“It is our duty at all times to ensure faithful compliance with the defined health measures in the country and to act accordingly,” read part of the message.
The Cabinet of Tourism also indicated that the executives of the said hotel were committed to having better measures in this regard.
The Ministry of Tourism also wrote on the social network Twitter that “respect for health protocols is not negotiable.”
