In the week in which the World Planet Earth Day, Toyota introduced the concept model of SUV, the bZ4X BEV.
With the launch of this model, a completely electric concept that emits zero emissions, Toyota strengthens its commitment to the environment and carbon neutrality by 2050.
“The Toyota bZ4X BEV concept points to yet another option in our already solid electrified portfolio,” mentioned Bob Carter, executive vice president of sales for Toyota Motor North America.
He added that “at Toyota, we are a human-focused company: the customer is our CEO and will ultimately decide which technologies will lead us to a carbon-neutral future. With investments and product offerings in across the spectrum of electrification, we aim to be there with products and technologies that meet the diverse needs of customers around the world. ”
The bZ4X concept is the first in a global series of battery-powered electric vehicles to be unveiled under the “Toyota BZ” brand umbrella meaning “beyond zero”.
The model includes a new AWD (“all wheel drive”) system that in addition to being electric, is charged with sunlight.
Physically it has a design with robust and sharp lines, abandoning the traditional front grille and instead has a number of sensors, lights and aerodynamic elements.
The model joins a full line of electrified vehicles that account for more than 40% of all hybrid vehicles sold in the United States.
Toyota plans to expand to around 70 electrified models worldwide by 2025. In addition, it intends to bring electrification to its line of “pick-ups” in the near future.
