San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Trent Williams is just a week away from becoming a free agent. Ideally, though, he hopes this doesn’t happen. He would like to stay with the Niners, who traded for him last season during the draft. Head coach Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers would like to keep him on the roster. Fans would like Williams to stay too. The veteran offensive linebacker has quickly become a fan and media favorite.
Williams joined teammate Richard Sherman, also scheduled to become a free agent, Williams The Cris Collinsworth Podcast this week. Sherman predicts Williams will stay in 2021.
“I have him stay in San Francisco for The Faithful,” Sherman said. “I think she stays in San Francisco. I think she’ll make you happy the other five (or) six more years, she puts on her gold jacket and decides if she wants it in Washington or San Francisco.”
Of course, players do not enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame associated with a specific team. They are incorporated as players and associated with all the teams they played with during their professional career.
As for Sherman’s prediction, Williams didn’t seem to have any problems.
“It’s not a bad catch, guys,” the Pro Bowl’s eighth bout responded. “That’s not a bad prey. You all trim the right tree.”
What about Sherman, who almost certainly doesn’t return to the 49ers? What landing site does Williams predict for his defensive teammate?
“I won’t lie, man. Rich is one of my favorite teammates I’ve ever had,” Williams said. “… I know any locker room that will get him will be blessed. I would like to stay in the locker room with him because I know what he adds to a team.
“I think it’s going to be a team that wins now, that I feel like we’re on a team that wins now. Rich, he’s very smart. He can do it anywhere. He can fit in any locker room. He can be combined with any crowd. So I really don’t see any limitations with it. “
Williams hesitated to name possible landing points, but eventually pitched some options.
“I still hold out hope that he will return to the locker room he is in,” Williams said. “… I can see [the Kansas City Chiefs], get in there and help this defensive field. … I’d like to see him somewhere where the weather is good, get a good paycheck, taxes don’t hit him.
“[The Las Vegas Raiders] sounds like a good team. I think the Indianapolis Colts. AFC, there are many good places out there. Until I finish back in Seattle. … I definitely don’t want to see him twice a year, if he were in San Francisco. ”

Options for the 49ers if LT Trent Williams leaves free agency
By Brian Renick

The worst scenario for the 49ers this offseason would be to see All-Pro left-back Trent Williams come out on free agency. Last season, the team sent a third-round pick to the Washington football team to acquire Williams and then restructured its deal to give him a small salary offset and included a language in the contract that stated they would not use the 2021 franchise tag. If we look at the pending free agents in the attacking position, it is easy to see that Trent Williams is by far the best player available. Williams has stated that he would like to return the 49ers, good news, but he also wants to test the market to determine its value, which could be bad news. There is enough equipment on the surface of the cap, even with a season fitted to the cap and with a need

Rosenthal expects Trent Williams, the 49ers, to be the highest paid player in the free agency

The San Francisco 49ers let great receiver Emmanuel Sanders leave through free agencies after negotiating mid-season with the Denver Broncos to buy him. It was seen as a piece that could help elevate the team to a championship, and it was very close to achieving that last year. Could Trent Williams ’offensive attack also end? Last year, San Francisco switched to Williams to replace retired Joe Staley, giving up the capital project. Williams is the most prominent name on the 49ers ’long list of impending free agents. Gregg Rosenthal of the NFL Network recently ranked his 101 best free agents in 2021. Williams entered

The San Francisco 49ers still have exclusive bargaining rights with representatives of Trent Williams, offensive strikers. That will change on March 15, when negotiations with other teams can begin. Without any new report on the progress of negotiations with San Francisco, it appears Williams is on track to open market. The 49ers would have held “extensive” contract talks with Williams’ representatives before the end of the team’s regular season. They hoped to avoid a situation where the eight-time Pro Bowler would even approach free agency. Viouslybviamente, this did not happen, and here we are. Williams and San Francisco have a mutual desire to stay together. Still here

Breer: Rising demand for Trent Williams could cause the 49ers to draft an attack at No. 12

Assuming they were all-in to return to the Super Bowl last season, the San Francisco 49ers switched to attacking Trent Williams to replace retired Joe Staley. It was a good play for a team that felt it could not afford a relegation to a key position on a roster hoping to avenge the defeat of the Super Bowl LIV. Upon arrival, Williams immediately noticed the difference between the 49ers ’environment and what he experienced in Washington. Meeting with head coach Kyle Shanahan rejuvenated the offense, who hoped to land in a long-running home. “I didn’t see this situation because I wanted to come here for a year,” Williams said
