While at first things did not look good at all in relation to the case of domestic violence of Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer, reigning National League Cy Young perhaps his biggest win of the season was scored, but instead of the mounds, this was in the courts, where he set an important precedent for his cause in relation to his future.
Just on the third day of her hearing, according to information from Steve Henson of The Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles County Superior Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman has denied the extension of a restraining order in against Trevor Bauer filed by his prosecutor, mentioning that at this time, the Dodgers pitcher does not “pose an immediate threat to the woman’s integrity.”
While this hearing did not determine whether or not Trevor Bauer is guilty of domestic violence or whether he will spend time in jail, whether it presents a major legal victory for the pitcher, as Judge Gould-Saltman determined based on the ‘evidence presented that the pitcher did not engage in any sexual practice that the plaintiff verbally objected to during their encounters.
This, however, could still lead to criminal and sporting consequences for Bauer, as although the restraining order was lifted, the judge specified that the pitcher’s actions were violent with even the lawyer of the ‘pitcher, Shawn Holley, admitting that Bauer hit the accuser hard and even left her unconscious by strangulation, but all within the limits imposed by the woman herself, according to the judge.
