Trevor Lawrence, woman to donate $ 20,000 to charities in Jacksonville after the wedding gift of Jaguars fans

JACKSONVILLE, Florida – Even Trevor Lawrence believes he will likely be the Jacksonville Jaguars ’pick at the top of the NFL draft.

Clemson’s former boss acknowledged that during a tweet on Sunday evening in which he thanked Jaguars fans for buying a wedding gift and raising more than $ 11,000 to donate to a charity he chose. Lawrence wrote that he and his wife, Marissa, will donate $ 20,000 to charities in Jacksonville and that they “hope to be part of your community soon.”

It will probably mean “soon” on April 29, shortly after the draft begins at 8pm ET (ESPN and the ESPN app). The Jaguars have the first overall selection and the wait since the 2020 season ended is for the team to select Lawrence, whom ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. ranks fourth with the best quarterback position behind John Elway, Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning.

Last month, Jaguars coach Urban Meyer told NBCSports.com that catching Lawrence with the first overall selection is “the direction we’re going.”

Jaguars fans staged a social media campaign to raise money to buy a gift for Lawrence’s wedding. The total donations raised reached $ 11,203, according to one of the fundraising organizers.
