After celebrating her 15th birthday with Garth Brooks in December, Trisha Yearwood opens up about how “difficult” their union can be.
Yearwood, 56, and Brooks, 59, tied the knot in December, months after Brooks posed on stage during a live performance in Bakersfield, California.
The country star opened up in an interview with US Weekly, revealing that their relationship has improved, “better over time”, although it is still “difficult”.

‘We are both very independent people who run our own boats. And sometimes, when two people drive two big boats, it can be difficult, ”Yearwood said as he promoted his new pet collection line.
She added that being in quarantine with her husband all the time during the COVID-19 pandemic did not present much of a problem, except that they could not go anywhere.
“Before this last year, we were together all the time. I mean we’re really a couple who got married to be together, so we didn’t spend that much time anyway. So it wasn’t a huge change. “But it was enough that there was nowhere to go,” he added.

The singer added that they both had to navigate the way they can stay “alpha” and “run their own lives” without ceasing to be a couple.
“It’s a balance where sometimes one person steers the boat and sometimes the other person, and sometimes you’re going to touch the head,” he added.
Brooks also said during an interview with Ellen in March that they spent their time in quarantine addressing the issues that have really bothered them for the past 15 years.

Alpha: The singer added that they both had to navigate how they can stay “alpha” and “make their own lives” while still a couple.
“I think 99.9 per cent of people wouldn’t have done what I do, but I thought that since we’re here and we have nowhere to go, we’re going to attack some of the hardest things of the last 15 years that fool one of us, ”he said.
It was like living in a hut [where] you couldn’t go anywhere, so you couldn’t get away from the conversation, ”Brooks continued.
After a year in quarantine, Yearwood noted their relationship, “now it’s better than ever,” adding that he has done what he normally doesn’t do in relationships.

“I was always the person who had relationships when things got tough; I was very happy to trust myself. I was good at it,” the singer revealed.
“So, in this situation, it’s not an option because it’s the love of my life, you know? So you sit down, you talk about it, and that improves you when you get to the other side,” he added.
Aside from music, Yearwood has been working on her pet food line inspired by her love of rescuing dogs.

“The sweets have all the human-quality ingredients, things that aren’t weird you know what they were,” he said.
“But then, for things like beds, backpacks and beds, I needed them to be cute, but I wanted to be able to go to the washing machine because my dogs are indoor and outdoor dogs,” he added.
“They get on the farm, they get dirty, they roll things up,” Yearwood continued.

Pet Food: Aside from music, Yearwood has been working on her pet food line inspired by her love of rescuing dogs.
