Former President Trump on Saturday was added to the list of organizations calling on his supporters to boycott to oppose Georgia’s voting restrictions.
Leading the news: Trump on Friday urged a boycott of Major League Baseball over plans to remove his All-Star Game from Georgia and “all the awakened businesses” that had positioned themselves, adding “You’re listening to Coca-Cola, Delta.” his new statement said, “Boycott Major League Baseball, Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, JPMorgan Chase, ViacomCBS, Citigroup, Cisco, UPS and Merck.”
What else does it say: Trump accused the “radical left Democrats” of playing dirty by boycotting companies that offend them.
- “They’re doing really well now with WOKE’S CANCELLATION CULTURE and our sacred election,” Trump said.
- “Finally, it’s time for Republicans and Conservatives to retreat (we have more people than them), by far!” he added, before filing a series of complaints, including the 2020 presidential election, and then wished, “Happy Easter!”
The other side: Democrats have criticized the new law, and President Biden called it “Jim Crow on steroids.”
- Biden said in an interview with ESPN that aired Wednesday that he would support MLB in moving the Atlanta game above the restrictions.
- Citigroup declined to comment and the other companies on Trump’s boycott list did not immediately return Axios ’requests for comment.
