Trump calls for negative evidence on flights from England: WSJ

The American newspaper The Wall Street Journal informed tonight that Donald Trump will sign an order this Friday, requiring all airline passengers from United Kingdom towards the United States, Which show a negative result of tests to detect Covid19.

according to the WSJ, The information was released by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Who also said the new rule would apply from Monday.

From previous days, United Kingdom suffers from a new strain of coronavirus which is much more contagious than the one that invades the whole world, so some countries have made an effort to take steps to prevent the spread of viruses.

The new rule says passengers from the UK to the US will have to prove they tested negative for coronavirus within 72 hrs before boarding the flight.

New strain appears in the UK

This week it was announced that one new coronavirus strain was rapidly infecting people in United Kingdom.

The new strain, which led the British government to sound the alarm, involves a mutation called “N501Y”, at the height of the protein Spike (spicule), the coronavirus, with which the virus s ‘stick to penetrate them.

According to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, this strain could be up to 70% more contagious, prompting several countries around the world to suspend their air and rail connections with the UK.

Mexico announces surveillance

As for our country, the Director General of Epidemiology of the Secretary of Health José Luis Alomía Zegarra, reported last Monday that the national territory will be tracked to detect if there is a presence of the new strain.

Alomía Zegarra said that information was already available in Mexico about the new strain, which is presumed to be much more contagious.

He also pointed out that more than 100 mutations of virus invading the world have been detected in the world.
