“We all knew the Biden administration was going to be bad, but none of us even imagined how bad they would be and how far they would go on the left,” Trump told a crowd of enthusiastic supporters in the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC)) in Orlando, Florida.
In a speech that lasted well over an hour, Trump burst into Biden’s incipient presidency by attacking him on issues ranging from immigration to the pandemic to trade to transgender rights. He called the Biden administration “anti-employment, anti-family, anti-border, anti-energy, anti-woman and anti-science.”
The address reflected, in particular, Trump’s first speech as a presidential candidate in 2015 for his strong emphasis on immigration and the border.
“It simply came to our notice then. They can be rapists. They can be drug dealers. Take them and release them in our country, ”he said, referring to undocumented migrants.
Trump also pointed to Biden’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, making it deserving of the vaccine distribution in the US
“I handed over to the new administration a current medical miracle,” he said, referring to the vaccine.
“I pushed the FDA [Food and Drug Administration] as if they had never been pushed before, ”he continued. “It simply came to our notice then. I didn’t like it at all, but once we did, I said, ‘I love you so much now.’ “
Trump also addressed conservative issues of great interest, including moves to allow transgender women to participate in women’s sports.
“What coach wants to recruit a young woman if someone who was born male can easily break her record?” He said. “I think it’s crazy. We need to protect the integrity of women’s sport.”
Trump took the opportunity to continue falsely saying several times that he won the 2020 presidential election while calling for the implementation of new voting restrictions. At one point, his comments on the 2020 election sparked chants of “you won” among the crowd.
The address comes amid a deep rift in the Republican Party. The former president, who was lavished with praise and adoration during the four days of the event in Orlando, aims to bolster a party that has seen its internal divisions come to light after the events of January 6, when a professional -The Trump crowd stormed the Capitol in an effort to disrupt Biden Electoral College victory certification.

Prior to his speech, Trump won the CPAC straw poll, with 55 percent of respondents saying they would vote for him in a hypothetical 2024 primary.
The former president also ruled out the creation of a new party, saying there was no reason to split the Republican Party votes. “We will be united and strong like never before,” Trump said.
The event in Orlando underscored Trump’s strong influence in the Republican Party, as the party seeks to regain majorities in the House and Senate in 2022.
“Trumpism means strong borders,” Trump said. “It means law enforcement. It means very strong protection for the Second Amendment.”
“It means supporting forgotten men and women who have been taken advantage of for so many years,” he continued.
And Trump did not rule out running again in 2024. He repeatedly sparked the possibility throughout his speech, encouraging the crowd.
“First we will get the House back and then a Republican president will return triumphant to the White House. I wonder who he will be, “he said at the end of his speech to a boisterous standing ovation.
