Trump posts a message to commemorate 9/11

President Donald Trump sent a message of support and criticism to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

“For the great people of our country, this is a very sad day,” Trump said at the beginning of the minute-and-a-half video shared online. “September 11 represents a great pity for our country.”

“A lot of things were shown that day, including especially the courage of our police, firefighters and first responders of all kinds, the work they did was really amazing,” said Trump, who chose not to attend the ceremony at Ground Zero on the occasion of the anniversary, but will visit the site later on Saturday. “We love them and thank them.”

Much of Trump’s message was criticism of President Biden and the withdrawal from Afghanistan last month.

“It’s also a sad time because the way our war ended against those who did so much harm to our country last week, the loss of 13 great warriors and the many most wounded should never have happened.” , Trump said in the video. “It was caused by poor planning, incredible weakness and leaders who didn’t really understand what was going on. This is the twentieth year of this war and it should have been a year of victory, honor and strength. “
