DALLAS – President Donald Trump’s supporters clashed in an angry party of screams with other passengers on an American Airlines plane bound for Washington after projecting a “Trump 2020” logo on the roof and walls of the cockpit.
Trump supporters said a passenger threatened to kill them and shouted back and forth. A flight attendant intervened and told a passenger in the hallway to sit down.
The incident occurred Tuesday night after American Flight 1291 from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport landed at Dulles International Airport, outside of Washington, DC, and was taxiing to the door.
The scene was posted on Twitter by Maranie Staab, a freelance journalist based in Portland, Oregon, who says on her website that it focuses on human rights and social justice issues.
“Our team is reviewing this incident,” American Airlines spokesman Curtis Blessing said. “We applaud our excellent crew members for their professionalism in slowing down a tense situation on board and bringing our customers to their destination safely.”
American said law enforcement was not called and passengers were degraded and dispersed without further incident.
