Add probiotics to your diet to ensure a healthy gut
The highlight
- A healthy diet helps ensure a healthy gut
- Add probiotics and prebiotics to your diet for a healthy gut
- A healthy gut is responsible for various functions in the human body
You may have found different ways to improve bowel health. Your body needs energy to perform different functions. The digestive system breaks down food molecules into nutrients and supplies them to the rest of the body for further processing. Many people continue to complain of heartburn, indigestion and other bowel related problems. Just drinking plenty of water is not enough for a generally healthy gut. There are medications, of course, but one of the best ways to improve gut health is through natural means.
Rice and water to increase intestinal health
Lifelong coach Luke Coutinho recently shared a video on Instagram showing a natural way to improve bowel health.
In the video, Luke uses a clay pot stuffed with leftover rice soaked in water. He then explains how the mixture of rice and water is one of the oldest Indian probiotics. He says it is a food suitable for the intestines that you can consume if you want to improve your intestinal health.
Using a long subtitle, he advised his fans to soak some cooked, fresh rice in water in a clay pot overnight. It can be consumed the next day on an empty stomach. Luke Coutinho says it’s great if consumed for 5 to 7 days in a row.
Its title says, “Keep your gut clean, healthy and well populated and it works for you in every way, from immunity to hormones to inflammation and more.”

Other natural ways to increase bowel health
1) Add curd to your diet
Curd is a good probiotic and there are different ways to add it to your diet. You can eat it along with your meal or prepare raita that will make your food interesting. You can also make buttermilk that is light and helps reduce heartburn and constipation. Click here for more suitable curd preparations.
2) Include nuts, seeds and other items in your diet
Sometimes, poor bowel health not only affects the body physically, but can also cause anxiety and stress. Prebiotics and probiotics are often believed to be helpful in reducing stress. Prebiotics such as grapes, apples, bananas and probiotics such as yogurt and kimchi can be consumed. Some of the little things that can be added to your diet are nuts, seeds and fish, among others. 3) Sleep properly
The functioning of the body is greatly affected if you do not have sleep. Sleep deprivation can cause additional hormonal changes, which are ultimately problematic. Therefore, sleeping properly is essential for a healthy gut.
4) Drink plenty of water
It is well known that drinking a lot of water is good for health. Try to stay hydrated throughout the day.
5) Balanced diet
Last but not least, a balanced diet is extremely essential for a healthy gut. Include fiber-rich fruits and vegetables in your diet to ensure proper bowel function.
