Turtle Beach, a manufacturer of popular gaming headphones, has acquired Clean microphones, a company that made waves with his unique-looking microphones for broadcasters and podcasters.
Initially launched by musical instrument maker Gibson, Neat’s Widget microphone line looked like something Jessica Rabbit would sing in Toontown. Founded by Blue Microphones co-founder Skipper Wise, the company recently launched the Bee Line, a collection of portable and desktop microphones in yellow and black and white. The engineer behind Blue Microphones, Martins Sulespurens, is also moving to Turtle Beach in the acquisition.
“We are entering the growing global broadcast and microphone market with two significant advantages: visionary leadership and engineering experience behind some of the most recognized microphones of the last 30 years and Neat’s impressive product range for 2021,” he said. dir Juergen Stark, Turtle CEO of Beach. “We are delighted to welcome Skipper Wise, Martins Saulespurens and the rest of the Neat Microphones team to the Turtle Beach family.”
Microphones come at a price in the $ 140 range and are aimed at digital broadcasters who are looking for a unique visual capture microphone with USB features. With seemingly more popular podcasts than ever before, there is a huge demand for an easy-to-use, good-sounding microphone. That these also look interesting feels almost like an advantage.
G / O Media may receive a commission
