It’s not pretty, but Twain Hoskins and the Washington football team won 23-15 against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
Hoskins struggled before getting to the bench at the start of the season. Against the Knights, he came to replace the injured Alex Smith (calf). Since then, Hoskins has not been able to get emotional following the victory.
“I would say the biggest growth I have had as a person,” Hoskins said.
“This is the greatest misery I have ever experienced since I came into the world … I prayed, I prayed again. I’m glad I was able to be here now, I say thank you. Now that’s all I care about.”

Hoskins replaces injured Alex Smith
Smith, who returned to the start of the season in 2018 after suffering a horrific leg injury, suffered a concussion in the first half on Sunday. Seeing him walk around, Washington still didn’t want to inflict a serious injury, and chose Hoskins.
Hoskins did not have a great trip. He finished 7-for-12 for just 51 yards.
But, most importantly, he rolled his team on the path to an eight-point victory – and finished first in the NFC East.
Hoskins was benchmarked after the 4th week. He had 939 yards for four touchdowns and three interceptions at the time.
Although it is unclear how head coach Ron Rivera will progress with this position at the end of the season – he said it depends on how Smith feels this week – he was impressed with what Huskins did on the field.
“He’s showing growth,” Riviera told NBC Sports. “This is what we have to look for … The first two series, you saw a lot of quick results, good results. [He had] Some run the crime again. “
