A new unique #AppleEvent “Hashflag” has appeared on Twitter for Apple’s fully digital “California Streaming” event next week to increase visibility and maximize social media advertising.
The custom Twitter tag includes a multicolored Apple logo and is posted from 1:00 pm Pacific time.
Apple has used the little icons next to the hashtags on Twitter for all of its previous events since late last year. The first use of the company’s hashflag was for the September 2020 event, when it announced the iPad Air and Apple Watch.
Twitter allows brands to add custom emojis alongside tags as a marketing strategy. According to Agency Creative, each can cost more than a million dollars and is commonly used for big events like the Super Bowl or the holidays.
Apple’s event will take place on Tuesday, September 14, where it is expected to announce the new range of iPhone 13 alongside the Apple Watch Series 7.
