Two sisters are accused of murdering four family members inside their Texas home before giving themselves weapons in a gruesome crime they plotted months earlier, they reported Monday.
Police believe Farhan Towhid, 19, and his older brother, Tanvir Towhid, 21, carried out the massacre Saturday at the family’s home in Allen, according to Fox 4.
The six victims of the Bangladesh family, including the parents, sister and grandmother of the siblings, were discovered by police dead with gunshot wounds during a welfare check near 1am on Monday, according to the report.
A friend of Farhan spoke to police about a blatant suicide note to which Farhan had linked from Instagram, where he detailed how he and his brother drew up the plan in February to kill his family and themselves if they couldn’t “fix it all,” CBS DFW reported.
Both brothers, who attended UT Austin, battled depression, according to the note.
“The plan was simple. We have two weapons. I grab one and shoot my sister and grandmother, while my brother kills the parents with the other. Then we take it out ourselves, ”Farhan wrote.
“If I killed just myself, they would be miserable,” he wrote. “I love my family. I really do. And that’s exactly why I decided to kill them.”
Police on Monday identified the boy’s parents as Towhidul Islam, 54, and his wife, Iren Islam, 56.
Farhan’s twin sister, Farbin Towhid, had a full scholarship to New York, FOX 4 reported.
Grandmother Altafun Nessa, 77, was visiting from Bangladesh. He was scheduled to return home next month, according to the report.
