Two dead after hostage situation at Texas Medical Center

Two people were killed Tuesday night in a hostage clash for a time at a Texas medical center, police said.

Police responded to the children’s medical group in downtown Austin after receiving a call around 4:30 p.m. about a person with a gun entering the facility and taking people hostage, according to reports premises.

KVUE reported that the suspect looks like a doctor.

The father of a patient at the center confirmed to Fox News that his doctor was being held inside and that the suspect was also a doctor.

A SWAT team arrived at the facility while the Austin Police Department negotiated with the suspect during a confrontation.

The hostage negotiator repeatedly begged the suspect to cooperate.

“I cannot guarantee your safety if you do not comply. Let me tell you, Doctor, there is a way to fix this. I need your help to fix the situation. It starts with you answering the phone, ”the negotiator said, according to KVUE.

Police said through a megaphone that the doctor inside is in “pain” and needs medication, KXAN reported.

Austin police later confirmed that two people were found dead inside the building. It was not immediately known if the suspect was one of the deceased.
