Country music star Tyler Rich experienced a smile near 2020 this week, when he stumbled upon a corpse while jogging in Massachusetts on New Year’s Eve.
“It’s not the way I planned to close 2020 … I guess my last day of the year made sense. My heart breaks for this poor young man 😞, ”Rich, 34, wrote next to a screenshot of a news report after the tragic story.
“This will be an image and a moment in my life, I will never forget it … I need to call for first aid and our military who see death in their eyes every day and can continue to live their daily lives.”
Rich goes on to detail the moment he discovered the body, saying he initially thought it was a homeless man sleeping in a very wooded area. Out of concern, he later walked around the place where he saw the man.
“I realize he’s not breathing, and as I get closer, all I see is a lifeless face covered in blood. Everywhere,” Rich wrote, “it seemed like a shot or a blunt force. Right now, I’m freaking out and running down the steep slope to try to find anyone with a phone to call the police. ”
The “Feels Like Home” singer then found a couple walking down the main road, borrowing their phone to call police. He also made a statement to the FBI.
“I am doing what I can to process this, the image, the reality. It’s been about 24 hours, “he added. “Something I’ll never see or forget … He looked like a young, normal child. Someone with a family was probably wondering where he was.”
