U.S. soldiers left Kabul airport to rescue 169 people

The nationality of the people transferred by the military to the airport has not been specified; it was learned that American troops did not cross any Taliban control

U.S. soldiers briefly left Kabul airport at a time to “rescue” people who were nearby, during an evacuation operation, the Pentagon said Friday.

“In a short time and a short distance, some soldiers were able to get out, rescue them and take them” to the airport, Defense Ministry spokesman John Kirby explained.
