The Dominican embassy in Washington confirmed on Thursday that technicians from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will soon travel to the Dominican Republic to conduct audits that would allow the country to export meat products of head of cattle in the American market.
Ambassador Sonia Guzmán explained that the purpose of these audits is to monitor that the system health security in the beef sector it maintains a level of protection that ensures that products exported to the United States are safe, unadulterated and properly labeled.
The diplomat expressed his satisfaction with the positive response of the Department of Agriculture United States to the efforts made by veterinarians of the Ministry of Public Health and by the technicians of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Dominican Republic, of the beef producers of our country and of the officials of the Dominican embassy in Washington.
Guzmán acknowledged that the great teamwork and institutional coordination that is being done in the search for the revival of beef exports to the United States, for the first time in more than 20 years.
“This great success will not only bring foreign exchange to the country, but will also mobilize thousands of jobs in the Dominican agro-industrial sector,” the diplomat said.
He recalled that during the Ordinary Annual Assembly of the National Confederation of Agricultural Producers (Confenagro), held on August 26, President Luis Abinader announced that shortly after coming to power, his government he began efforts to get the United States to send its technicians.
