Ubisoft co-founder and CEO Yves Guillemot told investors yesterday that the company is considering changing the name of Quarantine Rainbow Six due to the negative connotations of the subtitle while the world is still in the middle of the covid-19 pandemic.

When you contact Kotaku to comment, an Ubisoft representative said the company had nothing to add to Guillemot’s statement.
Although Quarantine Rainbow Six era first revealed at E3 2019, he began his life as Pioneer, el doomed science fiction project burlat Watch Dogs 2. Since then, the world has been surrounded by pandemic concerns due to the spread of covid-19, creating an awkward environment for throwing a game primarily about the spread of an alien plague.
Ubisoft has not yet announced the release date of Quarantine Rainbow Six, but CFO Frédérick Duguet said during the same investor call that it is still scheduled to launch sometime this year.
