The London Fire Department (LFB) was called in at 6:36 a.m. Saturday, where they deployed twelve fire trucks and about 80 firefighters to deal with the blaze at Chessington Business Park. The LFB found no one injured due to the fire, but a warehouse was destroyed.
Kirsty Woodcock, UK head of marketing for Specialized, told Cycling Weekly: “Last night it was reported that a fire had affected our UK headquarters in Chessington. Fortunately, no one was injured, but unfortunately the fire has had a devastating effect on our offices. There will be some changes in the short term in certain commercial operations, but our warehouse is in another place and the pilots should not be worried ”.
Neil Guyett, the LFB station commander who attended the scene, said: “Firefighters came to find a well-developed fire and worked hard to control it in what was a Prolonged incident. There was thick smoke coming out of the business park. “
The cause of the fire is unknown, however, the LFB Fire Investigation Unit and the Metropolitan Police Service are now investigating what could have caused the fire.
