Another 57% drop in sales

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla could not continue its stage at the top of the UK sales charts, as FIFA 21 ranks first for the week ending December 26, 2020. The top 10 list of top physical sellers of the UK contains the usual suspects of the past seven days, with Ubisoft’s Viking RPG moving to second while Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War occupies the residence in fifth place. There’s no movement for Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, once again in sixth place, but CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077 drops quite a bit to eighth place. It was the third best-selling game in the entire UK last week.
What makes this result interesting is that the data in question covers the first full week in which the controversial title was only physically available for PlayStation 4 after Sony withdrew the digital version from PlayStation Store. In the UK, at the very least, this did not result in an increase in the purchase of cash copies, as sales fell another 57%. The game can still be purchased digitally on Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One and PC.
