Unfortunately, the chances of seeing Desperados III on the switch are not good

We’ve seen some amazing ports on Switch, the most recent of which is exceptionally good DOOM Eternal. While we know that Nintendo’s console isn’t as powerful as Sony and Microsoft’s state-of-the-art hardware, it’s clear that, in the right hands, it can still house some impressive titles.

However, not all games are destined to reach Switch, and it seems so Desperate III – which is currently available for PS4, Xbox One and PC – is one of those games. Mimimi Games chief designer Moritz Wagner was recently asked about the potential of a Switch port and replied:

So we also love the Switch, especially our boss, he’s a big fan. I don’t think it works. We have been trying for a long time. It’s something that always comes up again. Sometimes THQ says, “Well, we could get these people to pay attention. Maybe they could make a port.

The point is that the game is very demanding, especially the CPU, which is a big problem for normal consoles that are already running this game. That sometimes you may not believe it, because it’s not Red Dead or something, right?

… I don’t think it will happen. I hope it can happen at some point. We always reevaluate it if something new comes up, but the game doesn’t really work. Maybe there’s a new version of Switch that’s a little more powerful – it’s something we can look at again. I’m not quite sure if they’re currently looking for something, but not sadly in the near future.

Were you hoping to see Desperados III on Switch?
