After being proposed as a draft in July, 37 new emojis have been officially approved this week as part of the recent one Unicode 14.0 update.
While it’s always a challenge to choose new emojis from the thousands of submissions, the latest batch of new emoticons, as they show Emojipedia includes some real bakers like the biting lip emoji, the new person with crown emoji, and my personal favorite:the melting emoji“Which probably describes exactly how many Americans feel.” survived the hottest summer ever recorded this year.
Elsewhere, the Unicode Consortium has also added some icons designed for LGBT people, including the new pregnant man i pregnant person emoji, while the new emoji for coral serves as a prominent reminder of the plight of our world’s aquatic habitats.
