Uniform chiefs mourn agent death by COVID

The Secretary of the Department of Public Security, Alexis Torres, and the Commissioner of Police, Colonel Antonio López Figueroa, mourned the death of Officer Juan Rosat López, 45, as a result of COVID-19.

Officer Rosat López joined the Police Bargain in 1996 and currently works in the Caguas Highway Patrol Division.

We deeply regret the death of Officer Juan Rosat López, who is the seventh law enforcement officer we lost because of this virus. For his part, the Commissioner has stated that “every time I lose one of my police officers, I lose a brother, a son, a friend, who gave his all to serve his country, his neighbor and his family. Therefore, we lose all. To Rosat López’s loved ones, we extend our embrace of solidarity and gratitude for lending ourselves to a member of his family to serve proudly in Puerto Rico. and with the certainty that he will be remembered in our hearts as an excellent human being and a great policeman. “

Currently, 137 members of the Police Bargain have received a positive diagnosis of COVID-19 and 161 officers remain in isolation as a precaution. All barracks, divisions and units continue to operate normally.
