United Yemeni twins go to Jordan for surgery on separation

According to the video of their trip, boys from Yemen, together with two months, flew to Jordan over the weekend to undergo separation surgery.

The twins, Mohammed and Ahmed, were born on December 17 attached to the rib cage and stomach.

Her father said the family is receiving international treatment with the help of UNICEF due to the limited resources of the Yemeni health system.

Yemen has been attacked by the civil war for six years, creating what the United Nations called the “worst humanitarian crisis in the world.”

The boys’ 35-year-old mother works as a street vendor in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, UNICEF said.

The agency said “private donors” are covering the cost of the surgery.

“After weeks of arrangements, we are pleased that the twins are now in a Jordanian hospital to be operated on,” Philippe Duamelle, UNICEF’s representative in Yemen, said in a statement.
