UPMC and Penguins team up for Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine collection clinic – CBS Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Mills Gallery in Tarentum will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic by Johnson & Johnson.

This is the only vaccine available that has a single vaccine.

“A lot of people want the Johnson & Johnson vaccine because it’s a shot,” says president of children’s hospital Mark Sevco, who leads UPMC’s mass vaccination efforts.

An appointment is required and UPMC staff will administer the vaccine.

“Fast, efficient and reliable,” Sevco says. “As effective as Moderna and Pfizer in preventing and illuminating hospitalizations and deaths. Therefore, it is really a vaccine with a lot of demand ”.

This clinic is for adults only. All priority groups 1A, 1B and 1C are eigibile.

“We will vaccinate about 700 individuals per hour,” Sevco says.

Children’s Hospital, in collaboration with the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Allegheny County Health Department, plans to vaccinate 12,000 people.

“Six thousand new appointments a day,” Sevco says.

All people who get vaccinated should wait in their car for 15 minutes and be monitored by nurses and volunteers.

“It’s also like the breed of the variance vaccine. We really have to follow this and vaccinate people, ”said Sevco.

The clinic will take place on April 14 and 15. If you do not have an appointment, you can still register online. That way, when availability opens elsewhere, you can schedule it.

Registration for the appointments will open on Wednesday 7 April at 10.30 am by visiting the UPMC vaccination website or by calling 833-676-1995.
