WASHINGTON.
United States extended to the September 21 the restrictions for non-essential travel such as tourism on its land borders with Canada and Mexico, Despite Ottawa’s decision to open its border to vaccinated Americans.
The last 30-day extension was announced by the Department of Security National (DHS).
Canada reported in July that it would begin allowing visitors from its southern neighbor to be fully vaccinated as of Aug. 9 for non-essential travel, after the covid-19 pandemic caused a prolonged ban that many companies they have described it as paralyzing.
He said he is working with public health experts and doctors to determine how to “resume normal travel in an innocuous and sustainable way.”
Travel restrictions have been in place since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020 and have been extended repeatedly, but allowing for commercial traffic and essential crossings.
