The U.S. Coast Guard and several good Samaritan ships have rescued six people and are looking for more after a commercial lift boat capsized eight miles south of Port Fourchon.
Coast Guard vigilantes received a beacon radio notification at 4:30 p.m. from a 129-foot commercial commercial forklift and issued urgent marine emergency information, to which multiple Samaritan crews responded. good, according to the USCG.
SEACOR Marine confirmed to ABC News that the vessel is the SEACOR Power lift vessel, which is used in oil and gas exploration.
Coast Guard cutter crew Glenn Harris, a 154-foot rapid response cutter, arrived at the scene within 30 minutes and rescued one person from the boat. A Coast Guard Great Island response boat rescued another person, and the good Samaritan ships that have been on the scene have rescued four others from the water, the Coast Guard reports.

Among the rescue teams that have responded are a Coast Guard cutter (a second is on the way); a Dolphin MH-65 helicopter from the New Orleans Coast Guard air station; two response ships from the Grand Isle-Medium Coast Guard Station; four good Samaritan ships; and an HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft, Corpus Christi Coast Guard air station.

Note: The Coast Guard’s first tweet initially reported that the ship was 265 feet in and out of Grand Isle. They have since corrected this report; the correct length of the ship is 129 feet and is south of Port Fourchon.
