Utah reports another death, 447 new cases of COVID-19

More than 30,000 vaccines were administered in Utah on the last day

The Utah Department of Health on Saturday reported 447 new cases of coronavirus and another death as the number of vaccinated Utahns continued to rise.

Vaccines reported in past / total vaccinations • 31,100 / 1,481,363.

Cases reported last day • 447.

Deaths were reported last day • 1.

The death was a 65- to 84-year-old Utah County man hospitalized at the time.

Hospitalizations reported last day • 132. It has gone down six on Friday. Of those currently hospitalized, 44 are in intensive care units, two fewer than on Friday.

Tests reported last day • 5,456 were tested for the first time. A total of 12,801 were tested.

Percentage of positive tests • According to the original state method, the continuous seven-day average is 6.8%.

The new state method counts all test results, including repeated tests by the same individual. The seven-day average on Saturday for this metric was 3.4%.

Total so far • 386,997 cases; 2,132 dead; 15,593 hospitalizations; 2,405,866 tests.
