Nearly 400,000 Utahs have been completely vaccinated.

As Utah prepares to open COVID-19 vaccines to everyone 16 years of age or older next week, the state reported 560 new cases of coronavirus on Thursday.
The Utah Department of Health also reported five more deaths, bringing the total to Utah since the pandemic began in 2014. One of the previously reported deaths was removed from the total after further investigation revealed it was not the result of the coronavirus.
Dose of vaccines administered the day before / total doses administered • 25,312 / 1,080,039.
Fully vaccinated Utahns • 394,004.
Cases reported last day • 560.
Deaths reported last day • Five.
Salt Lake County reported two deaths, both women between the ages of 65 and 84. There were also two deaths in Utah County, both women over the age of 85. And a man from Wasatch County, aged 45 to 64, died.
Hospitalizations reported last day • 189. This is new from Wednesday. Of those currently hospitalized, 63 are in intensive care units, unchanged since Wednesday.
Tests reported last day • 7,526 people were tested for the first time. A total of 16,975 people were tested.
Percentage of positive tests • According to the original method of the state, the rate is 7.4%. This is below the seven-day average of 8.4%.
His new method counts all test results, including repeated tests from the same individual. Thursday’s rate is now 3.3%, lower than the seven-day average of 4.2%.
