The former administrator of the Dominican Corporation of State Electric Companies (CDEEE), Radhamés Segura, did not appear this Thursday in the interview he had scheduled with the General Inspectorate of the Public Ministry.
Segura, who was summoned by 3:00 pm to answer questions about the bribery case of Brazilian construction company Odebrecht, filed a medical excuse through her lawyer Nassir Rodríguez alleging she is going through a viral process.
“Magistrate Juan Medina was informed that this was where Radhamés was summoned, and we will be given another date to appear before the magistrate,” the lawyer explained in a call made to him by the local press.
The prosecution initiated the interrogations of the eight involved in the Odebrecht case, who were favored with the final filing of the case against him.
In addition to Segura, authorities are expected to question the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco; Rudy González, César Sánchez, Bernardo Castellanos and Màxim de Oli.
Although his appointment was for last Wednesday, former senator Julio César Valentín also filed a medical excuse. Around the case was questioned on December 4, 2020, the president of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD), Juan Temístocles Montás.
The final file in favor of eight of those involved in the Odebrecht case came a year and three months after the then Attorney General of the Republic, Jean Alain Rodríguez, issued the act of the provisional file in favor of the inserts.
This file was signed in September 2019 by Narcís Escó, Cort’s attorney, alleging that there was not enough evidence to involve the involvement of eight involved in this case.
There was an objection signed by Judge José Alejandro Vargas.
These citations are part of investigations carried out, which seek to clarify whether there were irregularities in the opinion of the final file.
