U.S. authorities announced on Sunday possible convictions that could be imposed on alleged drug traffickers captured in the Dominican Republic, during a rape operation.
According to a statement from the United States Department of Justice, both Vladimir Natera Abreu and Joset Rivera Verdejo they can spend at least 15 years in prison, or face life imprisonment, if found guilty.
In the document Natera Abreu is indicated like one of the main leaders of the band Revolutionary Forces of Quarry of Puerto Rico (FARC), based in Puerto Rico.
The FARC, according to the US Department of Justice, has been operating since at least 2006, and had a presence in several Santurce neighborhood communities in San Juan, Such as Barri Obrer, El Guano, Platgeta, Carrer William, Carrer Onze, Pedrera and the Vila Kennedy Public Housing Projects, Les Cases, El Mirador and Les Margarides.
He also indicated that the FARC’s goal was to maintain control of all drug trafficking activities within the said Puerto Rican area “through the use of force, threats, violence and intimidation.”
Both defendants had previously been charged with seven counts for conspiracy to possess, with intent to distribute narcotics, to assist and incite the possession and distribution of heroin, crack, cocaine, and marijuana, as well as possession of a firearm, in promotion of drug trafficking.
Natera Abreu, who was born in the Dominican Republic according to records of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), was considered in the Dominican Republic as the largest drug dealer of Puerto Rico.

The Public Ministry and the National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) arrested the defendants in a flattening made in an apartment in the Torre Gil Rome XX, in the Evaristo Morales sector.
The extraditables were in the tower when authorities went to the scene in the middle of the morning this Sunday. The operation lasted about an hour.
