Warner Bros. Shifts’ Mortal Combat, ‘Tom and Jerry’ Release Dates

Warner Bros. Studios has changed the release dates for three upcoming films: Mortal Gombat, “Tom and Jerry” and Hugh Jackman’s science fiction drama “Reminder.” ”

The live-adaptation of the popular video game “Mortal Combat” was originally set for January 15, 2021, and will now open on April 16, 2021. The “reminder” originally scheduled for mid-April was removed from the studio’s calendar. The animated “Tom and Jerry” remake will be moved a week earlier and premiered on February 26, 2021 instead of March 5.

All three films, along with the rest of the Warner Bros. 2021 slate, will be screened on the same day as theatrical premieres on HBO Max. In all, the studio’s 18 films – including “Wonder Woman 1984,” “The Matrix 4,” “Doon” and “In the Heights” – will start day and date in the next 12 months. “Tom and Jerry”, directed by Tim Story, focuses on the bad cartoon cat and mouse twins. Featuring a mix of live-action and animation, the film stars Chloe Grace Morates, Michael Pena, Rob Delaney, Colin Jost and Ken Jeong.

“Reminder” describes Jackman as a scientist who uses technology to infiltrate the past of a woman he loves, finding a way to refresh any memory. Lisa Joy, who co-produced the HBO science fiction drama “West World”, is directing the film as her special director. The cast also includes Rebecca Ferguson, Thandi Newton and Daniel Wu.
