A 9to5Mac The reader sent a pair of “AirPods Max” for repair due to a problem with the Digital Crown, and the replacement kit he received again did not include ear pads.
Apple, on the other hand, expects users to keep the ear pads on the damaged irAirPods Max® assembly for use with the spare pair, unless, of course, the ear pads themselves have also been damaged. Given the modular design of the Max AirApods, it is possible that Apple will send only the headphones or only the ear pads to replace them.
Apple’s instructions for mailing the AirPods Max include a diagram instructing users to remove the ear pads before sending the AirPods Max to a repair box.

With the spare AirPods Pro models, Apple provides new tips for the ears, but the tips for irAirPods Pro are priced at $ 8 instead of $ 69, like the AirPods Max ear pads, so it’s not surprisingly they are delivered separately.
Apple does not currently sell ear pads on its own, but they are likely to be available when stocks improve. Purchases of AirPods Max from Apple continue to have delivery dates in March at this time.
