Warriors expect Stephen Curry (illness) to return to action on Tuesday

Stephen Curry took part in all of Monday’s practice and the Golden State Warriors expect him to return to action on Tuesday, after being absent from Saturday’s game due to illness.

“He feels better today,” coach Steve Kerr said in a video conference. “He was in all practice, he was fully involved, so we anticipate him playing (Tuesday).”

Curry, who averages 29.9 points per game this season, was retired in the last of the pre-game lineup on Saturday in which the Warriors fell 102-100 to the Charlotte Hornets.

The other good news for Golden State is that Kerr is optimistic that James Wiseman (wrist) and Kevon Looney (ankle) will play against the New York Knicks, after also participating in all of Monday’s practice. The Warriors want to evaluate them in the warm-up and see how they respond before making a final decision.

“If the two are ready to play, they’ll play,” Kerr said of his wide rotation with two players in the hurt. “Obviously we can’t get to play at 12, so I’m going to have to make some moves. I won’t say what I will do, I have to talk to our players first, but if Loon and James are active, they will play.”

Kerr said he anticipates Looney will be back in the starting eleven if he can play, after being out of action since suffering an ankle sprain on Feb. 2. Wiseman has been out since Jan. 30.
