Thanks to the recent integration of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War i Call of Duty: Warzone, a whole mess of 80s-themed bits and pieces have headed into the free video game. This includes, among other things, a lot of songs from the eighties like “War Tracks,” which can be taken out of the popular video game vehicles. Thanks to the inclusion of Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up,” players can now basically “rickroll”.
Alternatively known as “rickrolling” or “being rickrolled,” etc., the basic premise of the meme is essentially to trick people into clicking on a link that unexpectedly leads to Rick Astley’s song. War zone adding the song is not exactly the same type of meme, but the same song is associated and will stay forever. And “rickrolling” in Verdansk is sure to make some people go wild.
They added rickroll !!!! from r / CODWarzone
If you’re wondering how to get the song for yourself, it’s part of the Battle Pass progression system for the game and is unlocked at level 94 alongside “Shout” from Tears For Fears and “I Ran” from A Flock of Seagulls. The premium version is not needed to unlock the song group, so basically anyone who plays enough can get it on their own.
