Warzone’s next patch will not affect DMR

It won’t be long before the DMR’s reign of terror ends in Call Of Duty: Warzone. Raven Software has announced on Twitter that the next weapon balance update will “soon” arrive “with the superpowered rifle that will be hit by the nerf hammer, along with three other weapons that are causing some pain so far: the Type 63 rifle , Mac -10 SMG, and Diamatti double pistols.

Since all Cold War Call Of Duty: Black Ops weapons were folded into the war zone in December, players soon realized that the DMR tactical rifle was on their heads and shoulders above the remaining. I tried it myself and my word is something. Think a semi-automatic weapon would be at a disadvantage, but no, pull the trigger fast enough and get someone out terribly quickly. And with little setback and high accuracy to boot, it’s no surprise that players are getting closer to the thing en masse.

Type 63 is basically the hottest equivalent of DMR; not so good, but still very strong. Then there’s the Mac-10, a rectangle that breaks, only crushed near. Not to mention the double Diamatti pistols. They are firearms that require you to vaguely point in the direction of your opponent, to click quickly with the mouse and bam, this is a tango down.

It is worth noting that these balance changes are exclusive to Warzone, so these weapons will not be affected by Cold War multiplayer modes. A firm decision in my books, as they look good on me in normal multiplayer and would seem a bit like conveying their stats overall.

More than 30 weapons have been trapped in the war zone since the Cold War, so balance issues were almost inevitable, as statistics on Cold War weapons differ from those in the War Zone. War and Modern Warfare. Honestly, I’m surprised no more weapons have come out as totally broken, who knows what will dominate the next goal.
