Washington nationals will play double header against Atlanta Braves, eye list moves amid COVID-19 outbreak

The Nationals and the Braves will set up their game that was postponed Monday due to the Washington coronavirus outbreak as part of a double-headed Wednesday.

Major League Baseball announced the change Monday as Nationals players worked at Nationals Park.

Four national players tested positive for COVID-19 and seven more were quarantined after contacts determined they were potentially exposed.

The nationals plan to add first-team Luis Garcia, camper Yadiel Hernandez, receiver Tres Barrera, right-hander Kyle McGowin and left-back to their 26-man roster for Tuesday’s first season against the Braves, according to The Athletic.

According to various reports, championship star Trea Turner, first baseman Josh Bell and receiver Yan Gomes were not one of the players present in training on Monday.

The 2019 World Series champions have yet to play a game this season. His first three-game series against the New York Mets was completely postponed. Nationals and Braves will play two straight seven-game games on Wednesday, and the first will begin at 12:05 p.m. ET.
