He performed the track, the October single from his upcoming LP Chemtrails Over the Country Club—In a pre-recorded place in a rustic bar, with the support of a band and security singers. In November, the singer announced that she would release an album of American classics and standards. Later that month, he would share a video for his own version of George Gershwin’s 1935 standard “Summertime.” Del Rey covered Sublime’s 1996 song “Doin ‘Time,” which featured Gershwin’s song last year. His next LP of originals, Chemtrails Over the Country Club, initially scheduled for the Sept. 5 version, has been delayed. He published the collection of spoken word poetry Violet leaning back on the grass in July.
