Washington – President Joe Biden signed ten executive orders on Thursday as part of his combat strategy COVID-19[feminine, que ara ha cobrat 400.000 vides nord-americanes.
L’estratègia nacional exigeix ”prioritzar els subministraments que puguin causar colls d’ampolla” i utilitzar potencialment el DPA per produir “vials de vidre, taps, xeringues [and] needles “to ensure that drug manufacturers have all the supplies needed to maintain vaccine doses as they occur. Officials said their goal was to consolidate reserves for immediate need and any future pandemic.
The administration will also establish a coronavirus testing board.
A 21-page executive summary of the COVID-19 National Pandemic Response and Preparedness Strategy says the Biden administration aims to advocate for a coordinated response while restoring “confidence, accountability and the sense of a common purpose in our response to the pandemic. ” an unmistakable dig into the Trump administration’s treatment of the pandemic.
The Trump administration said it would vaccinate all Americans in late spring or early summer. It is unclear whether the Biden administration believes this goal is feasible.
“What we are inheriting [from the Trump administration] it’s a lot worse than we could have imagined, ”Zients said.
To increase vaccine availability, the administration plans to erect vaccine centers in stadiums and community centers and mobilize federal staff to help manage shots. This strays from the Trump administration’s approach, which sent doses of vaccine to states and localities and left them largely to find out the distribution.
Under Biden administration, vaccine doses will be made it will no longer be held back by the government, except for a small strategic reserve. The Trump administration also adopted the same policy after the Biden transition team announced it would release doses except for a few.
And on Wednesday, Mr. Biden signed an executive order demanding masks on federal properties.
The Biden administration also focuses on racial and geographical disparities in health. One of the executive orders of the president will establish a working group on health equity, led by Dra. Marcella Núñez-Smith, to collect data on the disproportionate impact of coronavirus on minority communities.
President Trump’s general surgeon Jerome Adams has been asked to continue advising President Biden’s COVID-19 response. Zients said the administration will hold regular press meetings with government doctors, including Anthony Fauci.
