Metallica performed “Holier Than Thou” and “Wherever I May Roam” Jimmy Kimmel live Friday night (September 10), an appearance that marks the launch of the cover collection Metallica’s blacklist. They also sat in the studio for a 10-minute interview about the comp and the Black Album, before reading reviews of an album star. Take a look below.
Metallica’s blacklist commemorates the 30th anniversary of that 1991 album, officially titled Metallica, and includes several screenshots of each song. St. Vincent, Phoebe Bridgers, Weezer, J Balvin, Moses Sumney and Rina Sawayama, among others, appear in the 53-track project.
The band appeared The Late Show with Stephen Colbert twice earlier this year, playing “Enter Sandman” and returning with “Battery” a few weeks later. Miley Cyrus joined the band for another version of “Nothing Else Matters” on Friday Hby Stern Show.
